“January 2012 was a ‘risk-on’ month whereby equities and other risk assets tended to rally quite sharply. Further to the comments last month, it was pleasing to see that Richard Buxton (Schroder UK Alpha Plus) put in a first quartile month with an impressive 7.4 per cent gain in euro terms. The main laggard in absolute and relative terms was the TR Global Bond but it is in the portfolio for ‘insurance’.”
